    Features

    Designed with an advanced switch mode DC-DC regulator IC.

    The output is powerful even working with 4 to 6 cells Lipo battery.

    Battery polarity reversal protection.

    A metal shield covers almost all the electronic components, and a specially made filter is attached with the output wires to significantly reduce the electromagnetic interference.

    The working status is shown by an indicator (LED), lights when the output is in normal range.



    Advantages

    The 3A-UBEC is a switch-mode DC-DC regulator supplied with a 2-6 cells lithium battery pack (or 5-18 cells NiMh /NiCd battery ) and it outputs a consistent safe voltage for your receiver, gyro and servos. It is very suitable for RC helicopter.

    Compared with the linear mode UBEC, the overall efficiency of the switch-mode UBEC is higher.

    I like to use UBEC's on my aircrafts, to provide 5v, because they allow me to use opto ESC's and I don't have to rely on one of ESC's to provide 5V, no bothering with removing the +5V wires from all but 1 ESC. I get a cleaner build by installing a UBEC.

    THIS REVIEW COVERS ALL THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE RFD900+ LONG RANGE MODEMS (pair).

    Purchased this from David/Helibatics and picked up at his office/home. David was very detailed in his instructions and provided some additional suggestions. Very patient, decently priced and extremely easy to order.

    As for the product itself, it did take a week or two for me to get fully digested in the inner workings and programing. After spending some time on the Internet and Youtube, I was able to setup and get it working. As for the distance, I’m a quadcopter pilot and as such, my distance is limited to about 2km. Within that area, I’m able to maintain full telemetry and keep things connected with no signal failures.

    The pair of RFD900+, antennas and cables, were somewhat pricey, but very well worth it. It’s money well spent. As for the pricing, you can’t go wrong by using Helibatics. The level of service they provide, answering simple questions and providing resources is amazing. American based location so you don’t have to worry about overseas dealings.

    Highly recommend, as a matter of fact, I’m looking into purchasing a new Bluetooth bridge that David is making - not sure if he’s got it up on the store or not. Basically, this is a simple ‘box’ that connects via Bluetooth as a bridge to your ground station and UAV. I can’t wait until that’s connected...the sky will be the limit.
