Product Description

FrSky Sensors:

This Battery Voltage Sensor does NOT need a sensor hub, but instead plugs directly into the applicable FrSky 2-Way receiver for reporting battery voltages back to your transmitter.  If you have any questions about hooking these together, or which ones you need, just contact us.

This uses a simple voltage divider circuit to measure the pack voltage on your aircraft. It can measure up to 5S LiPo as it is.  You can also measure higher voltages, but you will need to modify the circuit to do so.  This plugs directly into a D8R or D4R-II or newer series* receiver's voltage monitor port.

Does NOT require Sensor Hub.

* With new X-series receivers, this sensor can hook directly to an X6R receiver.  However, for the X8R, you will need this device here: https://www.helibatics.com/frsky-smart-port-to-uart-rs-232-and-ad-converter-adapter-type-b/ to adapt it to the receiver (see the 3rd picture in this listing for more details).  This item must be purchased separately.

  1. Works 5 Star Review

Posted by on 21st Jan 2015

Does what it says. The connectors on it are useless for the D4r-II bit it's trivial to solder the leads from the telemetry board. I added a JST lead for the incoming battery voltage while I was at it.
I had to adjust range to 20 and no offset for a 3s pack. Voltage displayed by the Taranis was within .1 volts of direct metered measurement at full charge all the way down to when my receiver browned out at a voltage so low a 3s LiPo would have long since completely quit (simulated that on an adjustable bench power supply).
