So far, I'm blown away with what this receiver can do. i plan to migrate form my DX6 to this one for all my flying objects. Only negative is the build quality is not quite as good as the Spektrum. Display is not quite as nice to look at. BUT, you can connect to your pc and do most of your programming there anyway, so not too big a deal.

After upgrading from dsm2 over the last 15 years, this I feel will be the last radio I will ever need to buy. If I can get the dsm2 module to work after I buy one I will have all of my curious needs met. I own 45 flying craft. The learning curve is steep but we'll worth it. You just have to watch a lot of the you tube videos. Painless 360 is the best for teaching. David from helibatics was great too work with.

Helibatics great company! Ordered on a Sunday had it by Wednesday with full battery and flashed to newest firmware. Will do as much business with these professionals as possible.

I'd never heard of helibatics.com until I needed a Taranis X9D. Virtually no one had them in stock and those that did had crazy high prices. Stumbled across helibatics.com and thought I'd take a chance. Used paypal for some protection because I'd never done business with them. Ordered on a Friday afternoon and on Monday afternoon my Taranis arrived. Perfect. Wow!

I found the programming very easy for an old school R/C guy. I love the choices of switches and mixers. This transmitter can be programmed for any type aircraft with many choices of mixers and 3 position switches for dual rates and expo. The transmitter has very smooth gimbles and a quality feel in you hands.

This is my second transmitter, first one was a Tactic 850. The Taranis is better by far. It's got so many features that it's a little complicated to setup, but being able to configure everything on the computer and save it onto the transmitter helps a lot.
Connecting the transmitter to the computer via usb let's me practice multirotor FPV with LiftOff. Much better resolution than using an audio cable.
I wish that this would have been my first transmitter.
